SpiritVale 0.31.0 Patch Notes: Dark Fortress, Weapons & Balance

SpiritVale 0.31.0, titled Dark Fortress, was published on August 24, 2026. The official Steam news entry lists a new Dark Fortress map, eight named weapons, new armor, cards and face gear, Summoner-related balance changes, and fixes. This page is a versioned reference, not a universal build ranking or a replacement for the live client tooltip.

Dark Fortress and the published weapon list

The official entry introduces the Dark Fortress map and lists Duskbreaker, Duskmire, Duskharvest, Duskveil, Dusktome, Duskedge, Duskscourge, and Duskbringer. It gives refinement, slot, and effect details for those items. Read the original note and the current in-game tooltip before committing materials: this page records what the August 24 announcement says, not a recommendation about which item is best for a class or activity.

Summoner and Bond Targets changes

0.31.0 says Grimoires are now character bound, skill splash no longer affects Bonds, and a new Bond Targets stat was introduced. The note also says summons take 50% less indirect splash damage and can auto attack and cast at the same time. It lists changes to Wraith, several named weapons, all books, Oathbound Artifact Set, Spirit Familiar, Chains of Binding, and Soulbinders Armor Set. These are patch-specific changes; they do not establish a damage ranking, an optimal setup, or an account-specific item-binding outcome.

Other balance and quality-of-life changes

The update says Sanctum maps were remade to be bigger, ET load balancing was changed across several instances, PvP arena queuing was rewritten to work across servers, and ET gained vote kick. It also lists a return of skill-chain range from 12 to 15, a +100% movespeed-bonus cap with an increase on non-combat mounts, a Tenacity Gem change, a Ragebound Fury change, and rebalanced boss gear drop rates. The announcement does not provide a personal latency result, queue guarantee, drop probability, or farming recommendation.

Cards, gear and displayed-stat limitations

The Dark Fortress section lists Echo attack and magic sets, face gear, class-card accessories, and named master cards. It also says Lockdown was fixed to stack up to 10 times, while its stat sheet is still not updated past one stack. Treat the latter as a documented UI limitation in this patch, not evidence of a hidden value or a diagnosis for a particular character. Confirm any current stat or item behavior in the live client.

If the client reports an incompatible configuration

The announcement asks players with a "client configuration is incompatible" message to restart Steam; if it persists, it says to browse SpiritVale's local files, delete the installed files, and perform a fresh install. This is the developer's published update-installation path, not a general fix for account, server, or gameplay problems. Preserve any important local settings or screenshots before changing files.
